This course, titled "Introduction to Probability and Descriptive Statistics" aims to introduce firstyear

students in mathematics and computer science to the fundamental principles of probability

and one-dimensional (univariate) statistical series.

It is important to note that statistics is defined as a set of scientific methods and techniques based

on collecting, organizing, presenting, analyzing, and interpreting data to make it understandable for

everyone. It also allows us to make informed decisions under conditions of uncertainty. This

science is an essential tool for understanding and managing complex phenomena.

As a result, this course is necessary for students in other fields in general, and for students in

particular, as it equips them with the basic concepts needed to make appropriate decisions in their

areas of specialization
