This course is intended for first-year Master’s students in hydraulics, as part of the fundamental unit 2 in the first semester. It is divided into six chapters. The first chapter covers general hydraulic concepts applied to open channel flows, while the second chapter discusses the equations of uniform and steady flow. Subsequent chapters address the concepts of specific energy, gradually varied flow, rapidly varied flow, and transitions in channel sections.

Theoretical notions will be alternated with exercises. To consolidate their knowledge, students will be encouraged to take various quizzes and tests.
