This course is intended for first-year Master’s students in hydraulics, as part of the fundamental unit 2 in the second semester. The objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the fundamental principles, operation, and application of hydraulic machines, with particular emphasis on pumps and pumping stations. This course aims to develop in students the skills necessary to effectively design, analyze, select, and maintain these essential pieces of equipment in various industrial and environmental fields. By exploring key concepts such as similarity, cavitation, and pump coupling, students will acquire a solid foundation for solving problems related to water resources management, hydroelectric power generation, and other applications requiring the use of hydraulic machines.
